The introduction of web 2.0 has directed the online world towards a new era of information. The information is now competing with the speed of light. The introduction of social bookmark sites has make it possible for users to spread their vows across the borders in seconds. Before that the only big giants were dominant on internet and there was hardly space for common writer. Now the trends has been changed and thanks must go to evolution of web 2.0. Web 2.0 is a living term describing changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web.

  6. Targeting bloggers and other influential Web users can help to control an organisation’s image and influence publicity for the positive
  7. Making Web-based marketing the norm, rather than the exception, will help optimise overall marketing spend.

The benefits of web 2.0 does not belong to a special group of internet user rather a farmer living in China have the same oppurtunities as the IT specialist sitting in Newyork. The small businessman can achieve its online goals through web 2.0 as follow

  • Services (applications) should get better the more people use them
  • Users add value through implicit and explicit content generation
  • Design for a seamless experience on PCs, handheld and mobile devices
  • Release web applications and services early and often
  • Take advantage of the Long Tail
  • Unique, hard to recreate data is a competitive advantage
  • Build for and with an ‘architecture of participation’.
