Blogs act as powerfull marketing tool |
Blogs conquer the web atmosphere. Sometimes i search for some product and services on google or other serch engine and the search results show me most of the links directing towards blogs content and when i landed to any result page i really have to think abpout old days when the search was much targetted.
Mushroom growth of blogs is absurding the search engine searches. I am not against the blogs but some peoples are taking blogs as powerful marketing tool. Actually blogs are descreptive in nature as compare to online stores. search engines and directories love content. Some gurus term content as King on the web. I have already experienced in one website about a particular product. I showed a product in a shopping cart and manage to get some external links too. Later on in a website blog announce the product through some descreptive way. I experieced in search results of google the announcement post of the product in a blog have much higher ranking than the page on store.
Actually when the blogs are posted there is ping services which send your rss content data  to sevral social bookmark sites and the post of the blog gets a lot of links imediately. Inbound links in shape of related entries link, latest entries links, tags etc also play a role in getting a higher ranking in serach engines as they provide inbound links. One can get a pretty web traffic in minutes.
The imporatnce of the index page or home page is still there becuase the index page still enjoy the higher ranking as compare to the internal pages. The competition on certain keywords is so high. I think the blogs can help you in competing the todays web environment to have an edge over your competitor but this is an ongoing race, if you stop you will be on loser end.
