Google update for 2008

I was curious about google 2008 first update. I read few peoples thought and found google made a shift in page ranking of few websites. I believe this shift is only targetted especially for those websites who are in a practice of copying content of other authors.

Now i feel google is facing few challenges in the shape of duplicate content and paid links. The google peoples are busy in combatting the above issues. I wonder how they will manage to identify the true writer or author of any content. If one news is distributred through news agency and posted in several websites then how to determine the real source. They may implement some rules in which top content brands will not be affected but again the small websites will be targetted by google. Now the pagerank is also losing its popularity. The webmasters are ignoring the pagerank popularity.

Actually the main problem now a days is blogging in which many bloggers are busy in copy pasting or they are using such softwares or blogging plugins which are importing and displaying data of other rss feeds. If imported data is excerpt then i dont think it is a wrong practice but if some one showing the whole post of other website then it must be a sin in the eyes of google and morally too.

Google alone cannot tackle this problem because now the peoples are so smart, they launch a new website import or steal heavy data from other peoples site make some money from several ads agency and before google act the desired task is completed. I wonder why google dont take steps to combat this evil through google adsense and adwords. In this case google is showing double standards. I have witnessed many websites who are busy in stealing other peoples content and showing adsense  ads. If we notice adwords usage, in past and now too when you click the ads you will be shifted to a website who are showing google adsense ads for higher paying words. I think google should formulate the policy which should be uniform.

We come back to google update of January 2008. It was a casual and targetted update. We still have to wait for the major update to asses the google new alogrithm.
