Permalink structure in the wordpress or any blogging platform can help you in making your url structure a pretty smart. By resetting WordPress uses a question character string, in order to mark a post. This is neither the Search Engine friendly nor human friendly. A better way is to use habit a URI in order to mark your posts better. Many bloggers include a date as part permalink. I guess/advise against it. The date of the post is not regarding is so important a part of the URI! My suggestion is to use a simple structure which contains the post metal lump as its Permalink URI. I use: Structure: /index.php/archive/ %postname%/ Notice that there is embedded index.php. This is finely with search Engines and humans also. And it functions large. It required did not mod_rewrite functionality or changes to htaccess. Something, which is as simple as this, works in all configurations. For category I use lower surface simply: /index.php/category This is fair a simple example. They can form your URI so with difficulty, as you wish. Remind simply to examine itself it. Personally I like it briefly and simply. Update 1: Refer please to notes down for points and counterpoints on this topic. Update 2: The objections lifted by some people are on, which has an identical title mentioned for posts, cause problems with WordPress. This is not a valid observation more. In other words you can let 10 posts call “lucky new year” and WordPress assign singular post metal lumps to everyone. This approximation without any impairments AFAIK is simply mentioned.
